The Amity Regional School District NO.5 Board of Education has appointed Frank Barretta as the Assistant Principal of the Blue Ribbon Award Winning Amity Regional High School. Mr. Barretta is currently serving as the Amity Regional High School Mathematics Department Chairman, and has been a proud and accomplished member of the High School family since 2000.
Mr. Barretta was selected from a pool of more than eighty well-qualified candidates through a process that relied on input and feedback from students, parents, teachers, staff members, and administrators. “Frank clearly impressed the interview committee and administration with his professional, reflective demeanor and his insightful consideration on how to move Amity Regional High School to greater heights,” stated Dr. Charles Dumais, Superintendent of the Amity Regional School District. Ms. Anna Mahon, Principal of Amity Regional High School, added that she “is thrilled to welcome Frank Barretta as the newest member of the Amity Regional High School Administrative Team. I have worked with Frank for the past fifteen years and have been consistently impressed by his pedagogy, his focus on students, and his approach to educational leadership.”
Mr. Barretta has been employed by the Amity District since 2000 when he began as a member of the Mathematics Department at Amity Regional High School. In 2010, he assumed the role of Mathematics Department Chairman. Frank is a graduate of The University of New Haven, having earned a BS in Computer Science and an MBA with a concentration In Finance. He completed his secondary mathematics teaching credentials at Southern Connecticut State University and his administrative credentials at The University of Bridgeport.

I’ve been a member of this district for fifteen years and am very proud of the achievements of all its students. faculty, and staff,” commented Mr. Barretta. “I’m thrilled to be able to move forward in my career within such an outstanding school district. Mr. Barretta began his role as Amity Regional High School Assistant Principal beginning August 17, 2015.
