The Student Council and school advisory groups at AMSB ran a food donation drive to benefit the Woodbridge Food Bank in the month of February.  Groups brought in canned goods and other nonperishable food items to replenish the shelves of the pantry after the holiday season.  The drive culminated in a “construction” contest in which advisories were tasked with creating a structure out of their donated items.  Some groups took the traditional route of a can pyramid while others built odes to our leaders, favorite movies, and space exploration.  The winning advisories for most creative were Mr. Newman’s 7th grade advisory group with “Backstreet Boys” and Ms. Young’s 8th grade advisory group with “Strike Out Hunger” bowling alley.  The advisory with the most items donated was Mrs. Mahon’s 7th grade group with a “campfire” who brought in a whopping 203 cans.  AMSB collected a little over 1,300 items for the food bank!
