Amity Physical Therapy Celebrates 14 Years With Expanded Hamden ‘Flagship’ Facility

Greater New Haven’s most acclaimed physical therapy practice has just turned fourteen.  Founded by Michael Dow MSPT and CEO/Clinical Director, Amity Physical Therapy has three offices, has won numerous awards, and recently opened an expanded “flagship” facility in Hamden.

Dow, who received his MSPT Degree from Sacred Heart University set out fourteen years ago with the concept of creating and managing the finest possible therapy practice of its kind.  The new Hamden office is massive in size including a spectacular second floor mezzanine that overlooks the main ground floor’s spread of therapeutic equipment unequaled in the area.  The facility can be considered a masterpiece in therapeutic technology.

Dow’s interior decor incorporates informal settings and artful motifs to make patients feel more at home in a relaxed environment during treatment and recovery.  No clinical surroundings here.  No white walls nor white coats.  The entire interior has comfort and aesthetics entwined for the ultimate in physical therapy practice.

“Beyond our superior treatment equipment and the amenities of our offices, it’s the ‘bedside’ manner of our clinicians that has established our reputation.  Indeed, healing is an art as well as a science.  All therapists are well experienced in a vast array of injuries and nagging physical disorders from arthritic joint pain and serious orthopedic problems, osteoporosis, muscle strains, and post-op rehab…our mission is to return each patient to normal pain free activity as soon as possible.  And that includes patients of all ages and levels of physical activity from pediatrics to geriatrics.”

Dow and his clinical partner, Kyle Branday MSPT, maintain hands-on, hour to hour supervision of each patient’s progress from initial evaluation to final healing.  They refer to their practice as a “gateway” to physical health, as they closely communicate with each patient’s primary care physician or orthopedic specialist.
