Free warm-ups and cool downs on a cold race day were conducted for Woodbridge race runners by therapists from Amity Physical Therapy. Competitors of all ages from the Kids Run to adult runners were treated to complimentary stretching exercises by the Amity Physical Therapy staff. The practice is the major sponsor of the popular annual race celebrating Woodbridge Day.
“All leg and foot muscles, ligaments and joints are involved in running,” commented Kyle Branday MSPT and partner in the Woodbridge based practice. “It’s like oiling a finely tuned machine,” he said. “Running can be a very stressful activity and stretch outs help to dramatically reduce leg and foot injuries.”
The complimentary exercises were performed by the talented staff from three Amity Physical Therapy offices: Woodbridge, Hamden and Branford. In addition to the Woodbridge Day Race, Amity Physical Therapy offers free exercises to runners in the annual Hamden, Branford and New Haven road races.
Founded eleven years ago by Woodbridge resident Michael Dow, the practice is one of the most respected and fastest growing in the Greater New Haven area. For more information call 203-389-4593 or visit www.amitypt.com.
