Amity Student’s Artwork to be Displayed at The Peabody Museum

Congratulations to Mingyue Zha who is an Amity Middle School student in the 7th grade.  Mingyue Zha was the second-place prize winner for the annual art contest at the Peabody museum during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in January 2018.  She participated in the Yale Peabody Museum art contest.  Her artwork was displayed at the Peabody Museum for two days.  The theme of the contest is to honor Dr. King and his legacy visually through works of art.  The top 20 submissions can be displayed at Peabody Museum.  There are just three places for Connecticut middle and high school students.  Prizes:  1st place:  $150, a 2018 MLK T-shirt; 2nd place:  $75, a 2018 MLK T-shirt; 3rd place:  $25, a 2018 MLK T-shirt.

Also Congratulations to Mingyue Zha whose artwork of oil painting, “Grayness,” and poetry piece, “Black Hole”, have been selected for an honorable mention in the 30th issue of Connecticut Student Writers (CSW) magazine.  Her works will be published in the 2018 Connecticut Student Writers Magazine.  Good news for her and Amity Middle School.  Congratulations!
