Classes are set to start at Amity Regional High School, as the 2015 Summer Program begins. Courses for credit will run from Monday, June 29 to Friday, August 7 and enrichment classes will run from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 30.
The courses for credit advancement being offered are Geometry L1 and Physics L1.
A sampling of enrichment courses include: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Creative Writing Workshop, College Essay Writing, Reading Comprehension, Study Skills, Computer and Math Fun, Dystopian Literature, Technology Galore, Spanish Culture and Language, Pop, Rock and Fiddle Tunes for Strings (both beginner and advanced), and more!
Additional fun and creative enrichment classes being offered include: Character Illustration, Crafts, Watercolor 101, High School/Middle School Fitness, Tennis Clinic, Babysitting Basics, Let’s Stay Healthy and Boating Safety and Personal Watercraft.
Amity Summer Musical Theater Camp, with Rob and Andrea Kennedy, will be presenting “Fantasy!” This popular and fun Theater Arts Day Camp is open to all students, grade 2 through high school. Students will receive instruction in voice, dance and acting skills and the camp will culminate with a full production in which all students will participate.
Amity Instrumental Performing Arts Summer Camp, presented by Philip Dolan, is a fun camp for students ages 8 and up. It is designed to teach students instrumental performance skills on the instrument of their choice, including Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Drums, Saxophone, and French Horn. There will be an on-stage performance by students at the end of the camp.
Evening classes are also being offered, most beginning on Tuesday, July 7. Why not treat yourself and enjoy a class in one of the following categories: Art, Crafts, Computers, Dance, Finance, Cooking, Language, Health & Wellness, Gardening, Real Estate, Fitness, CPR, First Aid and more.
Dr. Bernie Siegel will be presenting “Psychology of Illness and the Art of Healing” on Wednesday, August 5. Jim Percival will again be teaching his popular Yoga class, and three different levels of Tai Chi will be taught by Steve Kurimai.
