Sunday, Oct. 11th      First Annual Sherwin B. Nuland Lecture What is Palliative

10:00 a.m.                   Care? With Jennifer Kapo, MD. Chief of Palliative Care

Service Dr. Kapo will discuss nature and importance of palliative care in relieving suffering of seriously ill patients. She will address this in the context of life and work of our beloved CBJ member Dr. Shep Nuland z”l.

Saturday, Oct. 17th   The House at 7 Grodzka Street: Poles & Jews, Then & Now

Following Kiddush with Dan Oren, MD. Discusses his intimate experience of the complex state of Jewish-Catholic relations in Poland before and after the Shoah and today.

Special Services

Saturday, Oct. 24th    Kollel Tot Shabbat and Shabbat Chaverim – Kollel is for children in

10:15 a.m.               grades 3–6, Shabbat Chaverim is for children in grades K–2. Children learn how to lead and participate in services in an age-appropriate and engaging setting.

Saturday, Oct. 31st    Shir Hadash A songful, prayerful, soulful service led by Cantor Kanfer and

9:00 a.m.                     Rabbi Shapiro. We will be using the power of our music and the kavanah of our words and hearts to manifest God’s presence.

Every Week

Bread & Torah – Every Saturday, 9:00 a.m.; come learn parshat hashavua (the weekly torah portion) over bagels and coffee in the library with Rabbi Shapiro before 9:45 a.m. services.

Mah Jong & Canasta – Every Tuesday & Wednesday. Anyone can come in and play. We will be offering coffee “and” but feel free to bring a dairy lunch.

Daily Minyan – As a reminder, daily minyan is at 7:45 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. and Sunday morning minyan is at 9:00 a.m. Friday night services are at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9:45 a.m.
