The Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd, 680 Racebrook Road, Orange, held its Annual Meeting on Sunday January 31, 2016. With approximately 100 parishioners in attendance, and under the leadership of The Rev. Diana Rogers, the Church enthusiastically voted in favor of its new Vestry. The new Vestry team is comprised of Co-Senior Wardens Ross Cotjanle and Marilee Silva; Co-Junior Wardens Jaime Fields and Diana Saccente; Treasurer Sarah Greifenberger; and Clerk Jill Westgard. Other at-large members of the new Vestry are: Nicole Antaya, Carl Atlee, Marvin Collins, Jennifer D’Inzeo, Anna Franz, MaryAnn Haverstock, Bethany Hawkins, and Mickey Reid.
In accepting her nomination as Co-Senior Warden, Marilee Silva remarked “The new Vestry is comprised of an incredibly talented, dynamic and diverse group of individuals. I am very excited about working with everyone and developing some new programs and service-based initiatives that will continue the growth of our congregation and keep our church moving forward.” Ross Cotjanle, the other Co-Senior Warden, offered thanks, on behalf of the parish, to the outgoing Senior Warden, Will Cleaver, for his outstanding leadership overseeing the administration of the Church for the past two years. “Will was an outstanding Senior Warden. He got us through a transitional period as we sought our new Minister and rebuilt our financial strength. My goal for the new Vestry is to focus on growing our programs for children and families and using technology to create a dynamic environment that will serve as model for The Episcopal Church of Connecticut.” The Rev. Diana Rogers added “As a new resident of Orange, I have been impressed by the enthusiasm of our parishioners and the care they take in our campus, buildings and programs. The new Vestry reflects our strengths as we are a diverse congregation made-up of members from Orange, Woodbridge, Milford, West Haven, Derby, Ansonia, and Shelton. Good Shepherd has been at the forefront of the area’s religious community since 1958 and I am honored to be working with this outstanding Vestry as we position ourselves for the future.”
The Church of the Good Shepherd holds services every Sunday at 8am for Holy Eucharist with no music, 930am Faith Formation (for Children and Families), and 9:30am for Holy Eucharist with music.
