Church of the Good Shepherd Holiday Schedule

Church of the Good Shepherd Holiday Schedule

The Church of the Good Shepherd is busy preparing for Christmas and invites you to enjoy one of our upcoming services. On Sunday, December 14, we will celebrate the Eucharist with Rev. Canon Tim Hodapp. Tim is the Canon for Mission Leadership with the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut and works with parishes, like ours, who are in transition. Immediately following the 9 a.m. service, Tim will discuss the process ahead for the Church of the Good Shepherd as we select our next Rector.

On Sunday, December 21, we will celebrate two services. The early morning service at 7:45 a.m. is for all those early-birds who still have holiday shopping to do. At the 10:30 a.m. service, the Christmas Pageant will be showcased for children of all ages. Immediately following the Pageant, we will host our Annual Cookie Swap and Wassail Party. On Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, our Choir will begin singing at 4:30 p.m. and our service will begin at 5 p.m. We are honored to have the Reverend Dexter Cheney celebrate Christmas Eve with us, as well as on Sunday, December 28, when we resume our regularly scheduled services at 7:45a.m., followed by the Children’s Service with the JAM Band at 9 a.m. and concluding with a Choral Eucharist with the Choir at 10:30a.m. In addition to celebrating the Eucharist each week, we offer a community rich with fellowship.

This can be enjoyed on Saturday, December 13th when Pageant rehearsals begin at 9a.m. All are welcome to participate in this year’s Pageant. You can never have enough angels and shepherds. On Saturday, December 20st, our Church ovens will be on and all interested bakers are invited to help bake cookies for our Annual Cookie Swap that will take place on Sunday, December 21st immediately following the 10:30a.m. service. If you prefer to bake at home, then please bring 3-4 dozen of your favorite holiday cookies to share with others at the Cookie Swap and Wassail Party.
