Amity Regional Middle School – Bethany (AMSB) sent five student inventors (Connor Norton, Andrew Boulton, Dakota Sicignano, Harry Brochinsky and Tracy Lu) to compete at this year’s Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) State Finals which was held on May 2, 2015 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Over 15,000 students and 217 schools participated in the CIC program this year, and 1,000 student inventors advanced to compete in the state finals. The five student inventors from AMSB who advanced and competed in the state finals received several awards for their inventions. Four of AMSB’s student inventors received the Early College Experience Award from UConn and three received the Recognized Inventor Award. In addition, AMSB Technology & Engineering Education Teacher, Mr. Berean, received a plaque designating AMSB as a Connecticut Invention Convention School of Distinction.
