Country Corner Family Restaurant

Country Corner Family Restaurant

I am always thrilled when I get a recommendation for a restaurant that offers delicious food and great service. My colleague and Woodridge resident, Cynthia Lamont, from New England Home Care is absolutely in love with the food, service and staff at The Country Corner Family Restaurant in Bethany. After my recent visit I definitely agree with her. This is truly a family operation as Mo Topciu, sister Qazi, along with dad Sam & mom Sandy, have owned Country Corner since 2000 where they have been preparing fresh, made from scratch, home-cooked meals, served in a family atmosphere. Dad, Sam has been in the restaurant business for 40 years and brings his wealth of experience with a wide range of specialties.

The location is known throughout the area for its oversized, overstuffed menu and friendly, family-oriented service. Country Corner is a great place for locals with plenty of large booths and tables for groups. Its dishes have met with rave reviews, as one loyal customer said “every dish offers homemade deliciousness and the generous portions will leave you well satisfied but not overstuffed”! Country Corner’s friends (like Cynthia) and customers are definitely the key to its success. Its many regular customers comprise a combination of neighbors, business professionals, locals and even tourists stopping in for a meal.

All menu items are served all day offering a mix of breakfast originals as well as a variety of lunch favorites including sandwiches, wraps, melts, burgers and options for veggie lovers. Dinner can start with a choice of appetizer, followed by one of its country salads or homemade soups. Entrée choices are made to order with the menu spanning from Italian and Greek specialties to steaks & chops, seafood and its delicious “Chef Suggestions”. Fresh homemade specials are offered daily with customers saying that it is like their Grandmother’s comfort food. Many of Country Corner’s ingredients are organic and are sourced from local purveyors. The desserts are amazing including homemade pies, cakes, rice, tapioca, & bread pudding. Milk shakes, root beer floats, & ice cream sundaes are also offered along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, etc. Wine by the glass or bottle and a variety of beers are also available.

I would like to share my lovely colleague Cynthia’s comments about her favorite restaurant: “My all time favorite as the fish is fresh, truly fresh, is the Zuppe de Pesce. The marinara sauce for this dish is homemade, flavorful and not over spiced and simply delicious. It could be made spicy if you desire. French onion soup is homemade and one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere-I usually get Swiss instead of provolone. NY strip steak is tender and high quality. Stuffed mushrooms are delicious. Braised short ribs yummy. Wine selection lovely. Breakfasts…Blueberry pancakes outstanding. Homemade real hash browns. Great coffee. Breakfast served anytime. Service warm friendly and makes you want to go just for that!” Thank you Cynthia for your great feedback.
