Amity Board of Education

Diane Urbano offers a diverse set of skills that make her a perfect candidate for the Amity Board of Education. Diane’s 3 daughters all graduated from Amity, so she has a good overall understanding of the Amity philosophy and the mechanics of how the school operates.
Diane is a former Professor of Political Science and American Politics at Albertus Magnus College. She has worked for the City of New Haven and the Connecticut State Department of Higher Education as a budget analyst. Diane is also a Commercial Real Estate agent and owns a Woodbridge-based construction and property maintenance company. Diane’s varied background allows her the unique position of being on all sides of the education field – parent, teacher and taxpayer.

“I am seeking a seat on the Amity Board of Education to support a school that served my daughters so well and makes Woodbridge citizens so proud. My background in education and finance will allow me to make important contributions to the Board of Education, whether in curriculum or budgeting. My business background provides a skillset with specific expertise that I will use to make sure the Board operates as efficiently as possible. Finally, my experience in both construction and real estate will be invaluable in dealing with building maintenance, mechanical issues, and preventive problem planning.”
Diane received a M.A./PhD in American Politics at Columbia University, NY. She has served on the following Boards and Commissions: Woodbridge Economic and Development Commission, Non-Affiliated Member Institutional Animal Care and Use for Carestream Laboratory, Our Lady of the Assumption Ladies Guild, and Board of Directors of the Greater New Haven Catholic Charity League.
