I attended the meeting called by 1st Selectman Ellen Scaletter to address the concerns of neighbors of the Woodbridge Country Club about environmental issues and remediation of this property.
The First Selectmen gathered not only the Town’s Environmental Consultant to present information and answer questions, but also, most importantly, representatives of the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the State Department of Public Health and our regional Quinnipiack Valley Health District. These experts were unanimous in reassuring the neighbors – and all of us – that the contamination that has been identified is demarcated, not migrating through soil, air or water, and is not a health threat.
Once again, Ellen has demonstrated her commitment to disclosure, shared community information, and transparency, hallmarks of her administration and her consistent attention to the needs of Town residents.
