“The Human Services Food Closet is in need of non-perishable food due to an 130% increase in the number of households receiving emergency food”, stated Mary Ellen LaRocca, Director of Human Services. This past year, the number of households receiving food assistance more than doubled to 46 households in addition to an increase in the number of individuals and families who receive holiday food baskets. Woodbridge Human Services is seeking donations for the Food Pantry to help our families in need.
Current Foods Needed:
Liquids: Boxed Milk (Parmalot, Horizon, e.g.), Juices, Cooking Oil, Evaporated Milk.
Dry Goods: Pancake Mix, Pancake Syrup, Cereal, Oatmeal, Granola Bars, Crackers, Cookies, Tea Bags, Juice mixes, and Gravy mixes.
Canned Goods: Stew, Chili, Pasta, Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, Spaghetti Sauce, Gravy, Canned Vegetables, Potatoes, Ground Coffee, Frosting, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Tuna Fish, Canned Chicken/Beef/ Fish.
Personal Hygiene Items: Toothpaste, Tooth Brushes, Shampoo, Bar Soap, Feminine Hygiene items, Shaving Cream, Individual Toilet Tissue, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Diapers, etc.

The Food Pantry is also in need of gift cards to Stop and Shop, Walmart, and other local businesses. Food donations can be left at Woodbridge Human Services, Room 14 at the Center Building. 4 Meetinghouse Lane. Human Services Food Closet also welcomes monetary donations to be used to purchase perishable items such as dairy products, meats, fruit and vegetables.
