On the night of November 18 numerous members of the Garden Club of Woodbridge gathered to prepare 16 table arrangements for the November 19 Woodbridge Senior Center’s Thanksgiving luncheon. Even though everyone used the same number of identical flowers provided by the garden club, each arrangement was unique. White bowls with soaked Oasis floral foam inside were used to hold the blossoms. Included in the finished product were 2 stems of “Safari Sunset” leucadendron, 1 mini green hydrangea, 3 stems of “Orange Queen” alstroemeria, 2 anastasia aka spider or Fuji mum, 3 “Red True Romance” hypericum, 2 “Yellow Paintball” button pom, and 3 “Gold Caroline” carnations. These were complimented with leucothoe, boxwood, seeded eucalyptus, triticum wheat, and cinnamon sticks. 125 seniors attended the luncheon, enjoyed a delicious meal and 16 took home arrangements. Jeanette Glicksman, Director of the Senior Center, said “everyone loved the flowers.”
