Saturday Creature Features

Family and youth groups are invited to Saturday Creature Features that take place Weekly at noon. It’s an opportunity to get acquainted with the Nature Center’s animal ambassadors and reptiles. Call us for more information at 203-736-1053.

Sunday Afternoon Hikes

Every Sunday at 1:00pm, join a Ranger for a Guided Hike. Bring the family and spend an hour walking through the fields and woods along the park’s trail system. Look for signs and sightings of wildlife and late blooming wildflowers. Call us for more information at 203-736-1053.

Winter Solstice Drumming Circle

December 19, 2014 (6:00 pm), come with your own percussion instruments as we drum in the beginning of winter, when our portion of the planet takes a nap! Annual Christmas Bird Count

Saturday December 20, (12:00 pm), join the New Haven Bird Club for this traditional bird count, which has been taking place for over 110 years! Bird count results are sent to the National Audubon Society, and are included in the international census of early winter bird populations. Dress for the weather. Rain or shine. FREE. Winter Holiday Nature Days

Monday December 29 – Wednesday December 31 (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) – For children who love the outdoors and wildlife. These popular educational classes are designed for children 5 through 10 years old. We’ll have a chance to explore the park’s 150 acres and visit a variety of habitats. Come meet new friends, play games, create beautiful and useful items using natural objects and recycled materials, and much more. TUITION: $30/day ($90 all 3 days) priority students (Ansonia residents and current family-level FANCI members); $35/day ($105 all 3 days) all others. Please call for more information.
