Governor’s 2014 Summer Reading Challenge Award

Governor’s 2014 Summer Reading Challenge Award

Amity Middle School Bethany was recognized as one of the top middle schools in the state in the “Governor’s 2014 Summer Reading Challenge” on May 8, 2015 at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford. Three hundred Eighty-Four students read a total of 1,904 books last summer! That’s 98% of our student body! Governor Daniel Malloy and Commissioner of Education Dianna Wentzell presented an award to Neha Sudhir, Isabel Salazar, Sienna Wang and Jack Tajmajer, who represented our school as the top readers from each of the four teams. Governor Malloy also launched the new reading initiative for summer 2015: “Every Hero has a Story.” We are honored to have our school recognized for outstanding reading once again!
