On Tuesday morning Beecher Road School opened its doors for another school year. The school was gleaming and the children and their teachers were happy to be reunited for another successful school year.
The school underwent many changes during the summer while students and staff were out of the building, including substantial work in the A wing, new lighting upgrades, installation of new piping throughout the school, painting of hallways and new painting in some areas and a lot of preparation work for the installation of air conditioning next summer. “We have gotten off to a great start in the new school year. Teachers, parents and students were excited to see all the work accomplished over the summer,” said Superintendent Dr. Guy Stella. “Beecher’s students and staff are energetic and enthusiastic about this school year and looking forward to achieving great things.”
“I was so impressed to see how eager, happy and confident our Woodbridge students are,” said First Selectman Ellen Scalettar. “I’d like to thank everyone involved in the construction project and Beecher staff for being flexible and working so hard to get school ready for our students to learn in a great environment.”
