JCC Holiday Craft and Gift Fair Celebrates 15 Years

JCC Holiday Craft and Gift Fair Celebrates 15 Years

The 15th Annual JCC Holiday Craft and Gift Fair takes place on Sunday, December 2, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The show will feature more than 50 vendors, and a day full of fun activities for the whole family.  Admission and parking are free at the JCC, 360 Amity Road in Woodbridge.

The JCC Holiday Craft and Gift Fair is the largest in Greater New Haven, showcasing crafters, artists and vendors that are primarily local as well.  Attendees will see a wide range of artistic creations, including woodworking, jewelry, glassworks, pottery, clothing and accessories.  Fifteen years for an annual event of this kind (? magnitude sounds a bit dramatic) is quite an achievement, and each year there is increased competition from other shows and fairs.

Throughout the day, shoppers can visit the “Wrapping Room” to have their purchases beautifully wrapped.  Shoppers can rest and recharge in comfortable seating at the new Café 360, which will be serving up their signature coffee drinks and hearty soups.

“Requests for vendor applications start just as soon as the previous fair ends” says Debbie Brander, JCC Director of Member and Community Engagement, who has been organizing the Holiday Craft and Gift Fair for the past five years.  “It is a year-round effort to curate the show.  I am always looking to identify new vendors that our shoppers will appreciate and support, and collaborate with my colleagues to create a fun day overall.”

With so many booths to browse, many shoppers get to explore the recently renovated spaces of the JCC.  The Holiday Craft and Gift Fair has evolved into an annual Open House where the JCC can showcase its programs for the community.  “We are thrilled to provide this unique shopping experience to the community, for our members and many guests to view and purchase high quality items from local vendors,” said Scott Cohen, JCC Executive Director.  “We also enjoy giving the community an opportunity to learn more about the JCC through these Open Houses.”

Also, on Sunday, December 2, families can partake in a PJ Library program, create in the new JCC MakerSpace, and enjoy free craft making activities and free face painting.  Fitness and Wellness tours and demos will be available, as well as mini massages from the Spa at the J.  All are welcome in the afternoon to try out the new Rothberg Rock Climbing Wall and jump in the (use the formal name) pool for a special free swim.  JCC Day Camps will offer an exclusive discount to camp families that visit the camp booth, and the Membership Department will conduct tours, hand out giveaways and offer membership specials.  Look online for updated schedules for all of these special events.

Please check jccnh.org/craft-gift-fair for details regarding all of the Holiday Craft and Gift Fair special events.  Although vendor spaces are no longer available, for more information on participating vendors or to volunteer for the event, please contact Debbie Brander at debbieb@jccnh.org or (203)387-2424, ext 276.
