Small business owner, builder and general contractor, Woodbridge Board of Education candidate John Vultee will bring the creativity, resilience, and tireless work ethic to the Board. John owns Stratford-based Vultee Construction Corporation, which was founded by his father in 1984.
A Woodbridge resident since 2009, John is happy to have two feet planted on ‘terra firma’ these days; previously, he sailed regularly from Woods Hole, MA as a skilled fisherman for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
John and his wife, Dr. Veerle Bossuyt, are raising four children in Woodbridge. Their oldest is in first grade at Beecher Road School, the next is in pre-school, and the younger ones are flourishing Beecher students-in-training.
An avid outdoorsman, John describes his motivation to serve on the Woodbridge Board of Education passionately and succinctly: “I am running for my children, to help ensure that the Woodbridge school system continues to be as strong as it is now for years to come.”
“I also believe I owe it to the community to do as much as I am able to ensure careful and thoughtful use of all Beecher resources – financial, facility, and grounds,” he added.
John earned a BS in Fisheries Science and Technology from URI and currently affirms his devotion to the marine environment and nautical recreation through membership in both the Housatonic Boat Club and the Off Soundings Club.
