Jonathan Arpaia grew up in Woodbridge and graduated from Amity High School in 2005. He earned his BS in Technology and Engineering Education from Central Connecticut State University in 2012 and his Masters of Arts in Learning and Thinking from the Graduate Institute in 2018. Jonathan began his teaching career with New Haven Public Schools at Metropolitan Business Academy in 2013. He is currently a Technology Education teacher at East Hartford High School, teaching Woodworking and Robotics. In addition to teaching, Jonathan is the Woodworking Club Advisor, and spearheaded the Freedom Pen Project in which students in his classes and club made pens to send to troops deployed overseas.
Jonathan is a volunteer firefighter in Woodbridge, and has been active in the local community for many years. As a young man he earned the Eagle Scout award as a member of Troop 63 in Woodbridge. He is also an NRA pistol instructor and avid sportsmen.
