I am confident that, when elected to Connecticut’s General Assembly, he will be a credit to our town and to the district.”
First Selectman Gorski shared similar thoughts on Jorge. “Jorge is a thoughtful, honest, and hardworking person who has very clear priorities and objectives,” Gorski said. “He is a staunch advocate for more affordable healthcare, women’s rights, and working families. I am proud to give him my endorsement and I hope the people of Bethany will join me in voting for him on August 14th!”
Ellen Scalettar, former Woodbridge First Selectman who also served as State Representative for the 114th District, voiced her support. “Having served as both a legislator and as the chief executive of a municipality, I know that an effective Senator has to be able to navigate Hartford while remaining ever mindful of the needs of the district’s towns and residents. I have been impressed by Jorge’s knowledge, understanding, and commitment to our community. He has the skills to represent us well and I am very pleased to support him.”
Jorge is running in the August 14th primary for the 17th senatorial district which represents the towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck, and Woodbridge. The seat is currently held by Republican George Logan.
