Kathy and David Barkin organized a “Rid Litter Drive” as part of the town’s Earth Day event. Several groups signed on to volunteer and pick up litter along the roadsides.
The Barkins stuffed three huge bags of trash, picking up along Litchfield Turnpike, from about Konold’s Pond to Bond Road. Trash along the roads is often considered an eye sore, but it is also a danger to any wildlife and it may end up buried in the next wetland.
