In its rush to approve development of the former Country Club of Woodbridge (CCW) property, the Town Administration has to date failed to provide for meaningful public review and comment on a specific proposal. While it is true that conceptual plans have been presented, those plans need to be revisited in light of the constructability review recently completed by the town’s professional staff. The conceptual plans need to address specifically the zoning, infrastructure and natural resource protection issues raised in the constructability study. Furthermore, the public needs an opportunity to review, understand and comment on one or more specific proposals and the full range of their impacts.
Once this important property passes to private development, the Town will have lost forever most of its ability to control its use. It is critically important for the Town and its leaders to understand the best and most detailed information possible, and to participate in public hearings before any action is proposed.
