Matt Schwartz – Candidate for Amity Board of Education

Matt Schwartz is a lifelong resident of Woodbridge, and attending Beecher Road School and Amity Middle School Bethany. He is a 2012 graduate of Amity Regional High school and a 2018 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where he earned a BA in History with two minors, one in Political Science and one in Public Health.

As a student at Amity High School Matt was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he was an Assistant Teacher and Teacher of Hebrew and the Jewish Religion at Temple Emanuel.

While in college, Matt was very active in several campus organizations including serving terms as President of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity, Vice President of Greek Life Council, President of the SCSU History Club and President of the SCSU Political Science Club. He was presented awards from National Political Science Academic Honor Society, National Greek Life Leadership Honor Society, National Greek Life Academic Society and Susan Pinsky Bleeks Scholarship.

Matt currently works as messenger and researcher for the House Republicans at the Capitol in Hartford. He was the Assistant Campaign Manager for Senator George Logan during his 2018 re-election campaign. In addition, he was an intern for the Mark Boughton for Governor campaign in 2018 and town coordinator for the 2018 Re-elect Themis Klarides campaign. Prior to that Matt was a sales associate at the Boy Scouts of America Scout Store in Milford and awarded Top salesman in 2015-16.
