Patrick is running for a seat on the Amity Board of Education. He hopes to utilize his extensive academic and experiential background in education to support the needs of all Amity students. Patrick earned a BA in Psychology from Salisbury University, followed by an MA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Hartford and an MA in School Psychology from Towson University.
Through his work as a school psychologist in a nearby public school district over the last 12 years, Patrick strives to strengthen the relationships between families and schools, with a particular focus on helping special needs students achieve their potential. Patrick has served as a Judicial Marshall for the State of Connecticut which provided invaluable practical experience in the field of safety and security.
Patrick worked with the Marshalls to help them earn collective bargaining rights and was elected to be their first treasurer.
Patrick’s passion for the sport of lacrosse has led him to be a varsity high school coach for over 10 years, and inspired a commitment to providing access to high quality extracurricular activities to develop students’ unique passions.
Patrick and his wife, Dr. Anamika Reed, have twin seven-year-old daughters, who are flourishing in the MAG program at Beecher Road School. In choosing Woodbridge to call home, Patrick and Anamika were attracted by the reputation for educational excellence of both school districts, and he is eager to contribute to ensuring the continual improvement of opportunity for all students as a member of the Amity BOE.
