Woodbridge First Selectman Ellen Scalettar invites the public to a new event series, “Wisdom of Woodbridge” co-hosted by the Town of Woodbridge Public Library and the JCC. The First Selectman is curating a series of lectures by Woodbridge residents who will discuss their exciting professions, unusual talents and expertise in various topics. The Wisdom of Woodbridge lectures will be held on October 20 at the Library, November 17 at the JCC, January 19 at the JCC, February 16 at the Library and a March date to be announced. These lectures will be a way for Woodbridge residents to learn about myriad topics from their neighbors.
The first lecture, scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library, will be by Dr. Mary Papazian, President of Southern Connecticut State University. Dr. Papazian’s lecture is entitled “Embracing the Future: Southern Connecticut State University and the Changing Higher Education Landscape.”
Future Wisdom of Woodbridge lectures will include State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Rob Klee, Museum of the Chinese in America Director/President Nancy Yao Maasbach and AuthAir co-founder and CEO Yaron Baitch.
“This lecture series will be a wonderful way to highlight and interact with some of Woodbridge’s creative big thinkers,” said Scalettar. “Our little town is blessed to have so many people doing fascinating things. We can all benefit and learn from each other.”
The Wisdom of Woodbridge lecture series is part of Scalettar’s goal of promoting and creating more community events to bring residents together.
