Robert and Lois met while on active duty at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bainbridge, Maryland during the Korean War. Lois was a Navy Nurse and Robert was a Hospital Corpsman. Robert was also in the Indiana National Guard for three and a half years before joining the Navy.
They married at the base chapel on December 4, 1954.
In 1958, after retiring from the Navy, they moved to Puerto Rico where Robert owned Puerto Rico Automatics, Inc. and Lois worked as a nurse in a local hospital. After adopting two daughters in 1962, she became a full-time homemaker.
In 1982 they sold the business and moved to Woodbridge, CT in 1983. Robert retired in 2010 after 28 years with Dabko Industries, Inc. in Bristol, CT.
They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 4, 2014.
