Robosapiens Take Lego League State Championship

The Robosapiens include Beecher Road School and Amity Middle School students:  Henrietta Hall, Lucy Jiang, Alex Klee, Jacob Klee, Mihir Nandy, Jacob Richards and Xander Shavers.  They won the FIRST Lego (FLL) League State Championship.  FLL is an international science and robotics team competition.  Teams have to develop and share an innovative solution and they also have to design and program an autonomous robot to complete as many missions on a field within 2.5 minutes.

This year the theme was to innovate ways to encourage people to be more active.  The Robosapiens built a swim master which, unlike what is available on the market, allows a person to swim with both arms and legs on land.  The team’s top Robot Game score this year was 455 points.  Unfortunately, because of COVID, the World Championship was cancelled this year.
