Sandy is running for election to the Board of Selectmen, where she previously served three terms, from 2005 through 2011. She is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Woodbridge Board of Finance, where she has served since 2011.
With sixteen years of continuous public service to the Town of Woodbridge, she has devoted much time to developing an understanding of our fiscal and administrative structures. After retiring from senior management positions at Yale University, she is currently active on several community non-profit boards, including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra Foundation, Massaro Community Farm and the Agency on Aging for South Central Connecticut.
Sandra held several positions during her 17-year tenure at Yale University. She was most recently the Associate Director of Finance & Administration at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library and spent 9 years as the Director, Finance and Administration for the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to working at Yale she spent 7 years as an Administrative Director at Yale-New Haven Hospital with responsibilities including quality improvement, operational redesign and strategic planning and marketing.
Sandra received her BA, with honors, in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and her MA in Public Health from the University of Illinois.
Sandra and her husband, Dr. Harvey Kliman, have been a part of our Woodbridge community since moving here in 1992 to raise their three daughters all of whom are graduates of Beecher and Amity. Sandy’s two youngest daughters were in Beecher Road’s School very first MAG class.
