September 1, 2:30 -5:30 pm every other Tues & Friday: Open Farm Days in the Learning Garden. Drop in for some planting, weeding, watering, or harvesting in the farm’s garden. These informal sessions are open to all and no reservation is needed. Open Farm Days continues throughout the summer until October. September 6, 5:00-9:00 pm Dinner on the Farm. An annual family-style farm-to-table meal and silent auction to benefit the farm. There will be Hors D’oeuvres, Dinner, Desert, and open bar. September 19, 9:00am and again at 11:00am – Beekeeping Part V: Winter Prep. This workshop – the fifth and final in our seasonal series – will walk through on closing up the hives at the apiary. Instruction on how to prevent mouse damage, apply appropriate hive ventilation and last-minute feeding techniques. RSVP strongly suggested; space limited to 20 participants each session. The farm is accepting bookings now for educational field trips on the farm through November. Curriculum based programs this fall will be geared towards 6th graders, but all grades are welcome, and can cover numerous topics on farming, biodiversity, life cycle, soils, bees & pollination, and more.
