Shawn is running for the Zoning Board of Appeals. His professional experience includes over fourteen years of analytic work providing data-driven strategy in several industries. Utilizing this skill set, this past fall he joined the Yale University Office of Development. His dedication to family, strong ethics, and hard work are what best qualify him as a candidate for the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Shawn graduated from WCSU with a degree in Economics and is presently working toward a master’s degree in Survey Research from UConn. Shawn’s public service experience includes being a former member of the CT Air National Guard serving in the local 103rd Air Control Squadron in Orange, CT for six years. This military service allowed him to support both his community and himself through college.
Shawn and his wife, McKenzie Granata, moved to Woodbridge in 2012 with their two children who are now in 1st and 3rd grade at Beecher Road School. In his spare time Shawn enjoys spending time with his family walking the local Woodbridge trails, building Lego sets with his son, and bringing his daughter to sports activities. Shawn’s chief hobby is mastering his DIY skills to keep his family’s home well maintained.
Shawn has been seeking a way to volunteer his time to a civic role in Woodbridge and sees this as an amazing opportunity to learn and be involved. Active participation, understanding our neighbor’s needs, and bringing new life to Woodbridge’s democracy are areas that Shawn is focused on.
