State Organization Recognizes Woodbridge Administrative Officer/Finance Director

Woodbridge Administrative Officer and Finance Director Tony Genovese received the Certified Connecticut Municipal Official award at the recent Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) annual conference in early December.  Genovese was one of only 65 municipal employees to receive the recognition at the conference, which is open to all 169 Connecticut municipalities.

The Certified Connecticut Municipal Official program offers professional development to municipal staff on a variety of topics.  The program was created under the direction of Trinity College staff and is intended to teach municipal staff to work collaboratively, solve problems, build partnerships, and work across political and organizational boundaries via workshops, conferences and meetings.

Participants must complete 36 hours of study within two years and include three developmental categories:  Personal Development, Organizational Development, and Community Development.  “The classes I’ve taken through CCMO have been very helpful in creating the Town’s response to cybersecurity threats; staying on top of workplace issues; and learning best practices for a myriad of municipal issues,” said Genovese.

“I’d like to congratulate Tony on this recognition,” said First Selectman Beth Heller.  “I appreciate Tony’s willingness and eagerness to continue learning and improving his skill set in order to help our staff and residents.”
