Steven J. Fleischman M.D. is seeking his third term on the Woodbridge Board of Education. After graduating from Washington University and Albany Medical College, Steve completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital. He and his wife, Andrea, have lived in Woodbridge since 2004. Andrea attended Beecher Road School and is a Math teacher at Amity Middle School, Bethany. They have four children, Samantha, Julie, Zoe and Adam. Samantha and Julie attended Beecher Road School and are now at Amity Regional High School. Zoe and Adam are currently at Beecher Road School.
Steve is in private practice with Obstetrics, Gynecology & Menopause Physicians, PC with several locations in the New Haven area. He is also Associate Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital and an Associate Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, where he is actively involved in both resident and medical student education.
In addition to his local leadership roles in medicine, Steve is involved regionally and nationally as Chair of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Delegation to the American Medical Association and serves on the twelve member board of AMPAC, the Federal Political Action Committee of the AMA.
Steve is currently Chair of the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, on the executive committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and President of Congregation B’nai Jacob.
