Harry Chartoff Named To Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Spring 2015 Dean’s List
Worcester, MA—Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Harry Chartoff of Woodbridge, Conn., a first year student majoring in biomedical engineering, was named to the university’s Dean’s List for academic excellence for the spring 2015 semester. Greer Sloman Koerner, a Woodbridge resident, was awarded a doctoral degree in Law and Policy (DLP – Doctor of Law and Policy) from the College of Professional Studies At Northeastern University in Boston, MA. The hooding ceremony took place on May 14, 2015 and was a culmination of the three year doctoral program in which Greer researched, wrote and published her thesis: “Expungement Statutes: A Modern Scarlet Letter or Path to Rehabilitation?”

Tufts University School Of Medicine Announces 2015 Graduates
Boston—Tufts University School of Medicine graduated 184 MD students at its commencement ceremony on May 17. Among the graduates was Christopher McLaughlin of Woodbridge, Conn., who has received his MD. Dr. McLaughlin is the child of Carol and Christopher McLaughlin of Woodbridge. He will move on to a residency program at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, Va.) and will specialize in radiation oncology.
Abigail Ginsberg Earns Degree From The University Of Vermont
Burlington, VT—Abigail Ginsberg of Woodbridge, CT, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Preschool from the College of Education & Social Services during commencement ceremonies on May 17 at the University of Vermont. Ginsberg was among some 2,975 students who were awarded a variety of degrees—undergraduate, graduate and M.D.—during UVM’s 214th commencement. Among degree recipients were students from 42 states and 16 countries.

Lagasse named to Capital One Academic All-District team
Greenwood, Ind. – Kenyon College rising senior Sam Lagasse was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII Track & Field/Cross Country First Team. With the honor, the Woodbridge, Conn., native became the first Lords track and field/cross country member since Michael Baird in 2003 to be named to the team. To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, one must be of at least sophomore standing, possess legitimate athletic credentials, and own a grade point average of 3.30 or better. In the fall, Lagasse was one of Kenyon’s best runners finishing first in four of seven events. His 19th-place finish at the Great Lakes Regional Championships helped him earn All-Region honors as well. During the indoor and outdoor track seasons, Lagasse produced the Lords’ best times in the 3000- and 5000-meter runs along with the one-mile run.
In the classroom, Lagasse registered a 3.94 grade point average while studying English and religious studies. He also was awarded the Philip Wolcott Timberlake Junior Prize for his work in the English department.
Gordon Bogardus Joins Main Conservation Corps Field Team
The Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) recently welcomed Gordon Bogardus from Woodbridge, Connecticut. Gordon is the son of Julia and Sydney Bogardus. Gordon is also a 2012 graduate of Berkshire High School and is expected to graduate in 2017 from Hamilton college with a degree in Mathematics. He has joined as an AmeriCorps member for a term of national service on a Maine Conservation Corps Field Team. The MCC conducts conservation projects throughout the State of Maine, including extensive recreational trail construction and rehabilitation.
