Sydney Horton Graduates From Coastal Carolina University
Conway, SC—Sydney Horton, of Woodbridge, CT, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Horton was among more than 1,100 candidates for graduation at Coastal Carolina University’s commencement exercises on Saturday, May 9, at the HTC Center.
Eastern Connecticut State University Congratulates The Undergraduate Class Of 2015
Willimantic, CT—Eastern Connecticut State University’s 125th Commencement took place at the XL Center in Hartford on May 12. More than 13,000 family members and friends filled the XL Center to cheer on their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, as 1,130 undergraduates and 70 graduate students received their diplomas. Woodbridge graduates are: Joshua DeMayo, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting; Sara Foldy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; and Kelsey Guggenheim graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Guggenheim also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.
Horwitz Receives 2015 Alice Merrill Mitchell Prize At Bowdoin College Honors Day Ceremony
Brunswick, ME—Evan Horwitz, of Woodbridge and a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2015, received the Bowdoin Theater and Dance Department’s 2015 Alice Merrill Mitchell Prize at the college’s Honors Day ceremony held May 6, 2015. Horwitz is earning a major in English and a minor in Theater.
Woodbridge Residents Named To Honor Roll At Sacred Heart Academy
Sacred Heart Academy Principal, Sr. Maureen Flynn, ASCJ has announced the Honor Roll for the third marking period of the 2014—2015 academic school year. The following Woodbridge residents were named to the Honor Roll:
HIGH HONORS: Julianne Beltz and Anna-Claire Luciani.
HONORS: Jacqueline Degennaro and Carsan Dziczkowski.
Academic Honors are awarded at the end of each quarter to students attaining an average of 3.5 or better. Those students who achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or better are awarded High Honors.
Sacred Heart Academy National Honor Society Induction Celebrates Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service
Sacred Heart recently inducted 13 new members from the Class of 2016 and 23 members from the Class of 2017 into the National Honor Society. Founded in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize high school students who have excelled in four characteristics during their high school years; leadership, service, character and scholarship. NHS members are not only acknowledged for their accomplishments, but continually challenged to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service, and to work for the betterment of their community.
