Treasure Discovered In Seymour

If an Antique and Gift Shop could giftwrap itself, Charlie’s Treasures, nestled into Seymour’s famed Antiques Row on Bank Street, has the bows and trimmings ready for the shopping season.

Charlie’s is a small antique boutique, warm, cozy, shopper- friendly, with its own self-styled “personality” in store owner, Rita Tessitore.  Brimming with gifts and antiques, you can browse until you can browse no more.  It’s the kind of antique shop you hate to leave and wish you owned, leaving with the feeling that Rita Tessitore could become your friend.

“While we’re the fresh startup in town, I pride myself with a wide assortment of unusual antiques and gifts, “Tessitore said.  “I also sell select furniture I have refinished myself including full upholstering, a task that’s becoming a lost art.”  She continued, “I’ve always had the love and touch for old furniture and the need to connect with anything that’s wooden—chairs, tables, bed stands, cabinets—anything that begs to be brought back in appeal and value.”

Originally from Brazil, Rita Tessitore is very much at home with Valley life, living in Seymour with her husband and two children.  Charlie’s Treasures is located at 5 Bank Street, one block from Route 8 off the Bank Street exit.  Phone: 475-313-2741.
