Boy Scout Troop 907 in Woodbridge will be conducting its annual flower & fertilizer fundraiser at the Old Fire House on Center Road on the upcoming Saturdays, April 14, 21 and May 5 from 9am – noon. Available for purchase will be an assortment of flowers, grass seed, fertilizer and gardening products to help spruce up your garden and yard. The funds raised help support the troop in activities throughout the coming year that include scout summer camp, leadership training, camping, hiking, backpacking, canoe trips and more.
Scouting means more than outdoor adventure, it also is about service to the community. You will likely find scouts from Troop 907 at civic events, flag ceremonies, Veterans & Memorial Day ceremonies. In conjunction with its charter organization, First Church of Christ, Troop 907 can also be found helping to feed the needy at Columbus House in New Haven, shown in the photo, as well as helping clear trails in and around town.
Troop 907 has been instilling timeless values, sound ethics, first-class leadership skills and preparing youth for life since 1968. Scouts plan all Troop events and activities so they can develop strong leadership skills while adult leaders provide guidance and safety. The goal of Troop 907 is that every scout is provided the opportunity and encouragement to achieve the rank of Eagle.
Please stop by and support the scouts.
A 2012 Survey of Eagle Scouts done by Baylor University found that “…when compared to Scouts and non-Scouts, Eagle Scouts exhibit significantly higher levels of health and recreation, connection, service and leadership, environmental stewardship, goal orientation, planning and preparedness, and character” https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/210-045_WB.pdf.
