Vincent Carrano was born and raised in New Haven. He graduated from Quinnipiac University with BS degrees in English and Business Administration. He also has a Masters and a Sixth Year Degree in School Psychology and a School Administrators Sixth Year Certificate all from Southern Connecticut State University.
He moved to Woodbridge in 1979. He and his wife, Diane, raised 4 children all of whom were educated in the Woodbridge and Amity School systems.
Vincent had a 41-year career in education, spending 29 years as a School Psychologist for Pre-k through High School in Naugatuck. He was also a High School English/Reading Teacher and baseball Coach at Sheehan High School for 12 years. Vincent was a 31-year member of the Teachers Negotiating Team, 8 years as its Chairman. He was also a member of the Woodbridge Fathers’ Baseball League and a coach for 18 years. After retiring, Vincent returned to teaching and is currently an adjunct faculty member at Gateway Community College.
Vincent was elected to the Amity Board of Education, served a term on the Human Services Commission, is a member of the NRA and a parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
