Woodbridge Boy Scout Troop 907 enjoyed a winter campout the weekend of December 19-20,2020. Scouts built an igloo with the fresh fallen snow and two scouts actually slept in it! Other scouts camped out in lean-tos or tents in the frigid weather, maintaining social distancing. Scouts prepared their meals, gathered around the fire pit, and participated in four advancement Boards of Review, not venturing inside the camp cabin.
The troop also hosted a safe socially distanced Thanksgiving for the scouts and their families. The boys prepared meals for 30+ family members while also accomplishing tasks for advancement. It was 2 great weekends worth of outdoor memories and adventure that you can’t get plugged in or connected to Wi-Fi.
Shown are scouts and adult leaders who participated at Camp Whiting across from the Darling House in Woodbridge. The troop recently completed its re-chartering for year 2021 and continues to meet on Thursday nights, but at Camp Whiting outside on Thursdays as the pandemic continues.
New scouts and potential scout leaders are always welcomed.
