To the editor,
As a business owner, town resident and member of the Woodbridge Economic Development Commission (EDC), I am thrilled to say how the Woodbridge business community is thriving in recent years. Most excitingly are the new businesses choosing to locate in Woodbridge which are helping to grow our tax base and diversify our business community. Recently the EDC hosted a networking breakfast with an educational session on digital marketing, free for all Woodbridge businesses. This event provided an opportunity to network with other businesses in town while learning some valuable tips on digital marketing using social media and video. The event was well attended and we look forward the hosting future events to bring more of our businesses together to network and share ideas.
The EDC itself seems to have been reinvigorated over the last year. We are fortunate to have First Selectman Ellen Scalettar serving as our Commission liaison to the Board of Selectmen. It is apparent Ms. Scalettar became involved with our Commission because she understands the importance of economic development to our community. Having the ear of town leadership has helped raise the awareness and importance of the Economic Development Commission in helping existing as well as new businesses grow and thrive in Woodbridge.
