Working with the Economic Development Commission, the Town is organizing various business networking opportunities, including business sector meetings and business happy hours. The next event for the business community will be a Business After Hours happy hour at New England Brewing Company (175 Amity Road) on Tuesday, March 29 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Admission is free to this event and New England Brewing Company will offer its locally produced beers for purchase. Brewery owner Rob Leonard will offer a tour of the popular brewery.
The goal is to bring the business community together to learn about and from each other. If you or someone from your business plans to attend this event, please contact Assistant Administrative Officer Betsy Yagla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Supporting our local businesses has been one of my focus areas,” said First Selectman Ellen Scalettar. “These happy hours are a great way for our business community members to network in a local, relaxed setting.”
Previous Woodbridge Business After Hours events have been held at Wheeler’s Restaurant, the JCC and Grimaldi’s Pizza.
Additionally, the First Selectman has been visiting local businesses to highlight them as part of the “Shop Woodbridge, Dine Woodbridge, Try Woodbridge” campaign. The Town’s Economic Development Commission has been inviting new and expanding businesses to its monthly meetings in order to learn about those businesses and why they chose Woodbridge.
The First Selectman has also initiated business sector meetings. Representatives from local health care businesses are invited to join the First Selectmen and their peers for a meeting at Town Hall on April 5 at 5 p.m.
