Woodbridge Recreation Summer camp will run June 28 through August 6, 9 am – noon at Beecher Road South School for campers entering grades 1-8. Camp offers a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, drama, fitness, swimming and more. There is a three-week minimum. Due to a limited amount of spaces, no mail-in registration accepted. Register online or in the Rec Dept. Office. Registrations open to all Woodbridge Residents on April 26th. Due to COVID restrictions, WRD Summer Camp will not be running a CIT/Volunteer program for Summer 2021. Additionally, at this time we do not have a camp program for those who are entering 9th and 10th grade. The Rec. Dept. hopes to resume these programs in Summer 2022.
Tennis Permits: For use of all Town public tennis courts, and volleyball court for the playing of pickleball, tennis, or volleyball, please contact the Woodbridge Recreation Department for a no-cost permit to reserve your times. (Multiple times and days can be reserved for up to three weeks.) Permits for court times can be reserved by Woodbridge residents and registered nonresident pickleball and volleyball players only. Please contact the Rec. Dept at (203) 389-3446. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Remember, all reserved permits will be emailed to you. Once reserved you must have your permit with you while you are playing. This will be proof you have reserved that court for that specific time period.
2021 marks the return of the Summer Concert series. It will be held on Tuesday Evenings in July, with distance seating areas, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Woodbridge Town Green. July 6 is “Shaded Soul Band”, featuring soul music. July 13 features “Boogie Chillun” (Country, Blues, Jazz, Rock and Soul music). July 20 features “Center Line Band” – Rock n’ Roll Music. July 27 is the “West Rock Band” (Classic Rock). If it rains, the rain date is Wednesday.
Diane King Yoga returning indoors on May 12. Wednesdays, 10:30 am to 11:45 am. Call the Recreation Department for more information. The goals will be to learn postures that create strength and ease, and to manage stress through breathing, movement, and guided relaxation. The class is limited to 7 masked participants. Please bring a small pillow or folded blanket (for sitting), a yoga strap or long scarf or necktie, and a tennis or similar size ball.
