Woodbridge Rotary Sponsors Amber Alert Project

Woodbridge Rotary Sponsors Amber Alert Project

The Woodbridge Rotary Club will be sponsoring an Amber Alert ID Project at Massaro Farm Family Fun Day on October, 3, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Amber Alert Safe Child ID Project is a voluntary program for all children under the age of 18. Parents/Guardians of participating children receive a wallet sized, plastic card with a picture of the child, a unique AMBER ID number and only minimal, yet essential information to identify the child. This information is stored in a secure database. This card can be presented to law enforcement in the event a child is abducted. The information can be transmitted to law enforcement and to the public via Television, Radio, and Traffic Signs. This assists law enforcement by providing additional eyes of the public to look for the vehicle and occupants listed in the alert.

The Woodbridge Rotary Club will also be collecting winter coats and clothing at the Massaro Family Fun Day. Winter coats and clothing in good condition in children, teen sizes and adult sizes will be collected and distributed by the First Church of God to local families in need in the Greater New Haven area.
