Indoor Picnic – Over 75 people attended the Woodbridge Senior Center’s Annual Indoor Picnic co-sponsored by the Woodbridge Police Department on August 2. The food was great; the entertainment provided by John Paolillo thoroughly enjoyed and the sense of a warm community was pervasive. Pickle Ball Demonstration! The Woodbridge Senior Center will host a demonstration of Pickleball at the Center Gym at 4 Meetinghouse Lane on Tuesday, September 27th at 6pm by USAPA Pickleball Ambassador, Diane Sullivan. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Adults 50+ interested in learning more and/or trying this new sport are encouraged to attend! ‘Cooking for everybody’ – Brookdale Woodbridge will be sponsoring a 4-week cooking class targeted to improve food prep & cooking skills. The class will run Thursdays beginning on September 15th and will run through October 6th from 9:30am until noon. The first 3 classes will be held at the Senior Center and the final “graduation” class will be held at Brookdale Woodbridge, 330 Amity Road at 10:30am. ‘Painting for Pleasure’ – Sign up today for this community art class! Get to know fellow art enthusiasts and receive personal training from the instructor. The class is taught by artist, muralist, and designer Graham Dale. This class will work with acrylics, oils or watercolors and is for any level of experience. The art class will be held in the Senior Center on Wednesdays for 10 weeks, starting on September 7th. The cost is $60.00 for 10 classes. Students are requested to bring their own supplies. iPhone & iPad Classes with Instructor Fred Uleano. Enjoy all the features of your iPad and iPhone through these 6 classes. The iPad class meets four Wednesdays, beginning September 14th from 10-12noon. The iPhone class follows for two classes on October 19th & 26th. There is a separate registration for each class. These classes cover working with the Ios operating system as well as working with photos, messaging, storage and much more. Call to register– 203-389-3430.
