The Missing Link in Retirement Planning: Why and When to Consider Long-Term Care Insurance

Guest speaker Aldo Pantano, from the State of Connecticut’s Partnership for Long Term Care will discuss what you need to know about long term care insurance and how to protect your assets.  Please register.

The Annual Holiday Party with Robin Glowa, the Conscious Cook

Tuesday, December 5 at 7 PM

Join us to celebrate the upcoming holidays!  Our party will feature a festive cocktail and satisfying hors d’oeuvres you will love to make for your friends and family.  Recipes will be provided.  This is a very popular program; space fills up quickly.  Please register.  Due to the alcoholic beverage provided, registration limited to those over 21 years of age.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party

Monday, December 11 from 6-8pm

Join us for our second annual gingerbread house decorating party!  A $20 materials fee includes a pre-built gingerbread house, frosting, candies, and other edible supplies.  You must register in person at the Information Desk and pay the materials fee in cash when registering.  Individuals and teams of up to 3 people are welcome.  All ages may participate.  Children under 12 must work with an adult at all times.

Horizon Wings Raptor Rehabilitation and Education ages 4 and up

Graphic Novel Club – Squish by Jennifer and Matthew Holm

Thursday Nov. 30, @ 4:30 pm Grades 4 and 5

Meet Squish, a comic book loving grade school amoeba trying to find his place in the world.  Woodbridge Library partners with Beecher Road School on this special book discussion for students in fourth and fifth grades.  Copies of the books are available at the Children’s Desk in the library.  Please register online.

Mid December Crafternoon

Saturday, December 16 @3pm ages 4 and up under 12 with an adult

Make a waterless snow globe, enjoy some early winter stories, and a snack too!  Space and supplies are limited.  Please register online.

John Highby- The Amazing Yo-Yo Guy

Wednesday, December 27 @ 2pm ages 4 and up

John Higby is Yoyo Guy!  He’s performed in 26 countries and holds 4 Guinness World Records.  Join the fun at our interactive performance with yo-yos, a unicycle, and a giant yo-yo that John walks on!

Friends of the Woodbridge Library Holiday Book Fair

The Friends of the Library will be selling some unique books at a Holiday Book Fair, Saturday, December 2, 10 am – 2 pm.  The book fair will feature a small collection of books at special prices.  The Friends received unusual donations and will price the books at higher than their usual rock-bottom prices.  Included will be:  leather-bound Franklin Library Classic Books, mint condition, gilt page edges, sewn-in ribbon book marks, $15; lovingly collected, beautiful art books—from Edward Hopper to Jasper Johns—in pristine condition, $10/hardcover, $5/paperback; a small number of graphic novels by popular author, Neil Gaiman, excellent condition, $10; and a historical collection of psychology books from a local psychologist, good condition, hardcover and paperback, $1/book.  Holiday books as well as all books in the Friends Bookstore Alley will be available at usual prices.  Quantities are limited, so come early!  The Friends are providing free gift wrapping.
