Home Alone Class Rescheduled

This two-day class for ages 9-12 will be held Thursdays, Nov. 3 & 10 from 4:00-5:15 pm in the Woodbridge Town Library Meeting Room. Students learn about answering the door and phone, emergencies, calling 911, and healthy snacks. House rules and internet safety topics are discussed.

Each child receives an information packet to share with parents. Snacks and are water provided. Advance payment of $15 payable to Woodbridge Youth Services and permission form will reserve your spot. Call to sign up early as space is limited. Sibling discount applies.

Halloween Spooktacular

Seventh and eighth grade Woodbridge and Bethany residents and all Amity Middle School-Bethany students are welcome.  Grab a costume and join this awesome event on Friday, October 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the AMSB gym at 190 Luke Hill Road in Bethany. Fee of $7 covers games,  DJ, “Axe Throw” inflatable, costume contest, pizza, and raffle. Get your team of five together for the Mummy Wrap. Woodbridge Youth Services and the Town of Bethany sponsor this event.

Volunteers Needed:  Volunteers and donations of raffle prizes and toilet paper for the Mummy Wrap are needed. Contact 203-389-3429 for more information. Community Service hours approved for high school upper classmen who volunteer.

Fall Paint Party

All Amity Middle School-Bethany students are invited to register for the Youth Services Paint Party in the West Cafeteria on Friday, November 18th from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Artist Samantha Woodruff guides you through painting a beautiful fall scene. Fee of $20 covers instruction, materials, and snack. No artistic ability needed. Call soon. Advance payment and permission form required. Sibling discount applies.

Woodbridge Job Bank Seeks Teens Who Want Work

The Job Bank in Woodbridge offers occasional jobs to teen residents (ages 13 – 18) who would like to work in Woodbridge to earn money. Youth Services provides an opportunity to learn about the interview process, safety on the job, and how to negotiate pay.

Do yard work, babysitting, weeding, dog walking, raking, etc. Call for an interview at 203-389-3464 or e-mail npfund@woodbridgect.org. Masks and social distancing may be required.

Teens Need Jobs

Woodbridge residents who wish to hire someone for odd jobs like babysitting, yard cleanup, weeding, moving boxes, etc. Save your energy and keep teens working to gain experience. Call 203-389-3464 for more information.

Volunteers Needed

The Woodbridge Youth Advisory Board makes recommendations for Youth Services programming and seeks to include a diverse membership to support our diverse population. A few positions remain open for adults and high school students. Community Service hours will be approved. Interested residents may contact Youth Services for information.

BOWDAAC-Let’s Talk Prevention

BOWDAAC (Bethany, Orange, Woodbridge Drug/Alcohol Action Committee) is a grant-funded Local Prevention Council serving the communities of Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge. Its mission is to reduce underage drinking and substance use by promoting awareness through educational programs and community collaborations. New members are welcome. Community Sharing

Woodbridge Human Services collects food for families in need. Please be generous when local scouts collect in your neighborhood on October 29th. Their efforts and your donations will benefit Woodbridge families in need. Look for their flyer and bag on your mailbox soon.
