Woodbridge Youth Services Programs – April 2021

Red Cross Babysitter Training

Two-day training for ages 12-18 will take place 1:15 to 5:15 pm on Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14 at the Center Building at 4 Meetinghouse Lane.  Students must attend both days to earn certificate.  Social distancing measures will be in place and masks are required.  Snacks will be provided.  The fee is $60 for residents, $65 for non-residents.  Space is limited.  Call Nancy Pfund at 203-389-3429 for information or to register or e-mail:  npfund@woodbridgect.org.

Woodbridge First Selectman’s Youth Award

Woodbridge Youth Services, in collaboration with First Selectman Beth Heller, is accepting nominations for the First Selectman’s Youth Award.  The annual award, now in its twenty-second year, will be presented to a deserving young Woodbridge resident at a time to be determined.  People’s United Bank in Woodbridge will sponsor the $200 award.  Call 203-389-3429 for more information or you may find the nomination form on the Town’s website at https://www.woodbridgect.org/160/Youth-Services.  Please submit nominations to Woodbridge Youth Services at 11 Meetinghouse Lane, Woodbridge, CT 06525, by Monday, April 12, 2021.

Woodbridge Job Bank Seeks Teens Who Want Work

The Job Bank in Woodbridge offers occasional jobs to teen residents (ages 13 – 18) who would like to work to earn some extra cash.  The application process provides an opportunity to learn about the interview process, safety on the job, and how to negotiate pay.

Due to COVID-19, most jobs are currently outdoors with masks and social distancing as required.  Teens can do yard work, dog walking, raking, etc.  Responsible teens who wish to join the Job Bank should call for an interview at 203-389-3464 or e-mail npfund@woodbridgect.org.

Time for Spring Yard Clean-up? Woodbridge Job Bank Can Help

Woodbridge Job Bank teens will work for Woodbridge residents who wish to hire someone to assist for odd jobs like yard cleanup, weeding, moving boxes, etc.  Call 203-389-3464 for more information.

Chalk Art-Save the Date

Families who want to help create some bright, happy chalk art pictures can join the fun around the Woodbridge Center on May 8th.  Bring a picnic to enjoy the outdoors.  Please call 203-389-3464 to register for available space.  Chalk will be provided to registered families.  Masks will be required.
