WPD Donates to Ukraine

WPD Donates to Ukraine

Several weeks ago, Officer Joseph Kubik of the Woodbridge Police Department reached out to his Ukrainian friend, Yuriy Faryna, a Woodbridge resident, regarding the possibility of helping the people of Ukraine.  Faryna, who was born in Ukraine, moved to the United States in 2001.  He has many family members and friends that still reside there.  Faryna advised Officer Kubik that the Ukrainians are in dire need of ballistic vests and medical supplies.

Members of the Woodbridge Police Department were able to donate numerous ballistic vests.  In addition, the Woodbridge Police Department provided medical supplies, including tourniquets.

The Woodbridge Police Department would like to show our support for the Ukrainian community.  We hope that our small gesture encourages others to lend support to the Ukrainian people.

According to Faryna, Ukrainians need additional equipment, with a special emphasis on ballistic vests, level 4 ballistic vests and helmets.  If you’d like to donate any of these items, please contact Officer Kubik at jkubik@woodbridgepd.com or Officer Brian Pedalino at bpedalino@woodbridgepd.com.

(L-R): Officer Brian Pedalino, Mr. Yuriy Faryna, Officer Joseph Kubik
