A new class that begins with gentle yoga, & includes deep relaxation and meditation.

Wednesdays 5:30-6:45; November 5, 12, 19

Yoga and Meditation

Week One: Yoga focus on posture and alignment, balance, strengthening back and opening hips: areas important for ease in meditating.

Meditation focus: Meditation basics; overview of the 7 weeks ahead

Week Two: Yoga repeat week one with added focus on importance of breath

Meditation focus: Physical and mental benefits of meditation; the journey inward

Week Three: Yoga focus on review but adding tension/relaxation practice

Meditation focus: influence of Buddhist traditions

Week Four: Yoga focus – Posture, Prana, Pranayama

Meditation focus: Breath oriented and mantra meditation

Week Five: Yoga focus on postures as moving meditation/flow yoga

Meditation focus: Mindfulness and meditation

Week Six: Yoga focus on mindfulness in practice

Meditation focus: Affirmations: training your mind, aligning your spirit

Week Seven: Posture review/Connection of yoga and meditation

Discussion and guided meditation
